my favorite scene

Ghost in the Shell (NOT the. live action. one.) is one of my favorite pieces of anime media I've ever consumed. It captures the essence of cyberpunk very fluently, which, at least to me, these days, the cyberpunk aesthetic is usually very surface level. This movie has layers upon layers of subtext and themes that I absolutely love to sit down and take apart.

I was truly blown away by the visuals the first time I watched this. Something to know about me is that honestly, I haven't consumed a whole lot of anime media. Most animes don't interest me at all. I gravitate towards animes that are very sylized or anything from the 90s. Something about the themes and animation style from 90s anime just seem to hit a whole lot better than most modern anime to me. Anecdote aside, I adored the gritty, haunting atmosphere the visuals from this movie provided. It gave me a sense of everlasting dread. ESPECIALLY the scene above.
